How to Choose a Christian Preschool Homeschool Program

Faith-Filled Tips for Finding the Right Fit for Your Family.

Starting the homeschool journey with your preschooler is such a sweet season—full of giggles, discovery, and those wide-eyed questions about the world (and about God!). Choosing a Christian homeschool program during these early years helps lay a strong spiritual and academic foundation that can grow with your child.

But with so many choices out there, how do you know which one is right?

Here are six simple, faith-filled things to consider as you choose a Christ-centered preschool curriculum for your family:

1. Start with Your “Why”

Ask yourself: Why are we homeschooling right now?
Is it to spend more intentional time with your little one? To teach from a biblical worldview from the start? To give your child a gentle introduction to learning? Knowing your “why” helps guide your decisions when looking at different programs.

2. Choose a Curriculum Rooted in God’s Word

Look for a program that naturally includes Scripture, prayer, and Biblical truths throughout the week—not just as a bonus. Bible stories, memory verses, and lessons that point your child to Jesus are all great signs that the curriculum is Christ-centered.

3. Think About Your Child’s Learning Style

Preschoolers thrive when they can play, explore, and move! Choose a program that allows flexibility and fun—like singing, crafts, sensory play, nature walks, and storytelling. A curriculum should meet your child where they are and nurture a love of learning, not rush them.

4. Find Something That Fits Your Season

Whether you’re balancing other kids, work-from-home responsibilities, or just learning the ropes of homeschool life, be honest about what you can realistically manage. Open-and-go programs or weekly themes can be a big blessing during busy seasons. Preschool doesn’t need to be complicated—it needs to be consistent, joyful and full of play.

5. Look for Support (You Need It Too!)

A good homeschool curriculum doesn’t just teach your child—it encourages you, the parent. Look for parent-friendly guides, lesson plans, or communities where you can find support, ideas, and encouragement when you need a boost.

6. Pray and Trust God’s Leading

Sometimes the best guidance isn’t from a checklist, but from the quiet leading of the Holy Spirit. Take your decision to prayer, and trust that God will equip you to teach and disciple your little one in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6).

Remember: The most important part of homeschooling preschool isn’t the curriculum—it’s the connection.
